This evening, Anya, Christina and I went to Spur at Quatre-Bornes where we had a nice dinner. We started with some Quesadillas: a Mexican dish made of flour tortillas, cheese and chicken and cooked until the cheese melts. Then as the main course, Christina took some Fajitas, another Mexican dish. For my part, I ordered a simple (but very nice and tasty) beef steak with french fries and fried onions.

Anya, of course, was allowed to take whatever she wanted from both our plates :-)

Jeneeta, wife of my cousin Nirish, has given birth on thursday (Yes! the 1st of April) to a very cute baby girl. So a big welcome to Nyeshka Leena Beeharry !

The baby and the mother are both fine. The father on the other hand is feverish : he has only just realised that “sa vie de debauche” is now finished :-)

Avinash has already announced the news of the second baby who is “en route”. I’d just like to share some views with you, which would tend to debunk some of the myths surrounding maternity.

First of all, if there is such a thing as “maternal love”, there is also “paternal love” and people don’t seem to be talking enough about it. IMHO, it’s talking about things which gives things value. In other words, this is all CULTURAL, not to say CULTUAL! In fact, we have a very nice example of such paternal love at home, n’est-ce pas Avi?

Second, pregnancy is NOT a rosy period in the woman’s life. Believe me, it’s rather a difficult period. You feel nauseated, you get back pain, you are easily tired, and giving birth is painful. Fortunately, the result is positive (a nice cute baby like Anya ;-)
