On 11 September 1994, Christina and I started dating (we got married six years later). We had just met in Réunion Island where we had started our university studies and we fell in love within a few days. Thirty years later, on 11 September 2024, even though some things have changed (haven’t them Anya and Kyan?), we are both madly in love and we try to have something fun and interesting to do pretty much every day.
Of course, we’ve had our ups and downs but, thankfully, we’ve had more ups than downs. We have both evolved, both personally and professionally. Christina has become a formidable researcher and academic and she is pushing the boundaries everyday in her field. And, me, far from the brouhaha, I’m having a great time trying to make Mauritius a smarter, more innovative and better country.
Thirty years go by very quickly and it’s necessary to make the most of this time. As a good friend just told me: “Kan vivan ki bizin viv!”.
So, expect Christina and I to have a great time today and tonight.
Happy anniversary Christina! I love you.
