The 2021-2022 season will start soon and it is now time for Liverpool FC to part ways with a number of young players who will unfortunately not make the grade as well as a few established players who, for some reason or another, can be considered surplus to requirements. Two good examples are Loris Karius (not of the level needed) and Naby Keïta (too injury prone). Here are a few names I have noted:
GOALKEEPERS
Loris Karius (not of the level needed)
DEFENDERS
Ben Davies (not of the level needed)
Tom Clayton (has not made the grade)
Anderson Arroyo (has not made the grade)
Tony Gallacher (has not made the grade)
MIDFIELDERS
Naby Keïta (too injury prone)
Ben Woodburn (has not made the grade)
Sheyi Ojo (has not made the grade)
FORWARDS
Xherdan Shaqiri (has done his time)
Divock Origi (has done his time)
Taiwo Awoniyi (has not made the grade)
Liam Millar (has not made the grade)
Of course, to replace the departing Georginio Wijnaldum, Liverpool will need to buy a midfielder. Liverpool will also need a good world-class forward. With these additions and Ibrahima Konaté, the recently purchased central defender, the team looks relatively balanced and complete.
Who will be this new midfielder and this new forward?
