Just stumbled upon that video and I’m amazed by how people in poor countries still manage to produce excellent photos using extremely low-tech devices. I would love to try using one.

It definitely requires a lot of hard work and patience.
But one thing for sure, this kamra-e-faoree is the father of all cameras, just like C is the father of all languages… ;)
And what’s cool is that you don’t even need electricity for that…
Yes, it’s the father of all cameras. C is not the father of all programming languages though: FORTRAN and LISP are.
